I always have to order two of these because it is just too addicting to have just one order. The perfect dumpling, bitsized morsels of seasoned pork and cabbage in a wrapping with perfect thickness. Can't get enough.
I had my doubts when I saw this place. How can there be good pho in the middle of a Mexican neighborhood? Boy was I wrong. The pho was piping hot when it came out. The sprouts were very clean and washed. The meat pieces were great. And the broth was not too oily as many pho places make it. It was light and still flavorful. The best I've had in the Peninsula.
Honestly, as a Korean it is hard to find good kimchi at restaurants, because it is usually less spicy for more wide consumption. Home-made is always the best because nothing really beats my wife's kimchi, But if you can't get it at home, Seoul Gom Tang restaurant has the next best thing.
Comfort food Korean Style. This soup just makes me happy and reminds me of my mom's home cookin'. I am now going to tell you all how to eat this the right way. You dump the rice that comes in those metal bowls straight into the broth, add a little chopped green onion and salt and pepper to taste. You make sure you can taste the salt but not make it too salty. Then you scoop up a spoonful of rice now soaked with the broth, add a piece of ox tail meat and cover that with a piece of kimchee. Then you stuff all that in your mouth at the same time. The mix of those flavors together makes for a delicious belly warming dish.
